Yep, it's billed as a social publishing platform. I also earned decent money at first. $850 (and counting) for my first post, $300+ on a couple others, pennies since they changed. I'm a former staff writer for daily print newspaper & thought at first Medium might provide an income similar to that of freelancing. But every time Medium reconfigured how they calculate payments, I've earned less. But I keep at it. I have since read some of your work and see you also wrote a I'm-giving-up-on-Medium posts but then didn't. I also post on Vocal and earned $5,000 through one of their contests; another $300 through three other of their contests. They seem to be moving away from big ticket prizes to more frequent $1K prizes which probably makes more sense but sadly they've also done away with the prestige literary judges that gave finalists bragging creds for lit mags. I write everything. Blabby personal pieces, goofy trying-to-be-funny pieces, poetry, trying-to-be literary fiction. It's such an irrational eclectic mix I will never find an audience but it's what I feel like writing now.
